Carbon storage was measured in natural red spruce dominated stands in the Eastern eco-region of central Nova Scotia. The Kyoto Protocol and Canada's carbon budget and forestry practices are discussed. The effects of traditional clearcutting vs partial logging were measured with regard to the level of carbon sequestration.
