Title: | The mother figure in the history plays of William Shakespeare |
Authors: | Houssami, May (Ayoub) |
Keywords: | The mother figure in the history plays of William Shakespeare |
Issue Date: | 1976 |
Abstract: | I have chosen the topic of the mother figure in the history plays of William Shakespeare because it is a subject that has not received as much attention as other, perhaps more important aspects of Shakespeare's work that have been under constant discussion. Only the figures of Volumnia and Constance have been given their due, receiving considerable treatment as mothers, but the other women have either been discussed as females in love or have been neglected altogether. |
