Abstract: Religious leaders helped to provide Canada with a significant tradition of English Canadian nationalistic thought that cannot be overlooked in any thorough examination of Canadian nationalism. Indeed, to a considerable degree, there was exhibited by many English-speaking Protestants that kind of spirit that French Canadian nationalists like to point to as proof of hatred of other races and cultures.
