This thesis deals primarily with solving systems of autonomous ordinary nonlinear differential equations arising in Celestial Mechanics initial value problems using various finite-difference techniques. Those methods investigated are the classical Runge-Kutta, Gill’s modification to the classical Runge-Kutta, Runge-Kutta-Nystrom, rational extrapolation a la Bulirsch and Stoer, and Taylor’s series.
