Personality factors and treatment response in hospitalized male alcoholics
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the relationship between the personality of male alcoholics and their response to an in-patient treatment program. Twenty male alcoholic in-patients were tested on admission and at discharge from a 21 day structured treatment program using a combination of Forms A and B of the 16 PF and the Bell Alcoholism Scale of Adjustment (BASA). Three months after discharge a follow-up questionnaire was sent to the patients.
