Wireless communication networks have experienced remarkable growth in recent years and are becoming attractive alternative to cable and DSL in providing last mile network access. Candidate wireless technologies should be cost-competitive, offer broadband wireless access, support portable and mobile operations with integrated voice, video and data services. Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is emerging as the leading wireless access technology that provides cost-competitive, ubiquitous broadband wireless access and Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities.en_US
