Abstract

This article mainly compares two restoration projects in developing countries, one in China and the other in the Philippines. Both developing countries are located in Asia and have similar population densities, and both have destroyed large tracts of forests because of large numbers of crops. But the plans and processes of these two projects are quite different. The restoration project in the Philippines applied the traditional method of returning farmland to forests to plant fruit trees on the land. In China, a large area of abandoned wasteland has been transformed into a park full of greenery for people to relax and entertain. Therefore, this article will compare these two projects with similar premises and backgrounds but completely different practices through the follow-up development of the project, ecology and economy, and select a restoration project that is more in line with the local conditions and benefits the local people.
