Issue Date: 1990
Abstract: One of the major problems facing school boards of Northwestern Ontario is the high turnover rate among teachers in isolated communities. The purpose of this study was to investigate how teachers in isolated communities of Northwestern Ontario perceive their work and employment conditions, the relative degree to which they are satisfied with their job, and the causes of satisfaction and dissatisfaction among teachers in these communities.
